Ready, Set, Spring
Early spring is the ideal time to start preparing for a great gardening season. Here are a few "to do" items to get you ready.
Tackle Weeds Early. To keep weeds from germinating apply a pre-emergent herbicide. This can be used in sidewalks, around driveways, patios and rock beds.
Plant cool season vegetables. Peas, lettuce, kale and brussel sprouts are just a few of the things you can plant now. Remember to rotate your crops.
Plant Pansies. Pansies are both colorful and cold hardy. They are a great annual for transitioning spring to summer. So add some color to your patio pots and garden beds.
